Landscape Photography Tips
Landscape photography is
about getting the big picture. To capture a wide
angle view like this, you should have a wide angle
lens, something like a 16-24 mm, or sometimes you
can get away with the lens I used here, which was
an 18-55mm Canon. Not only do you want a wide
angle, you want maximum depth of field as well. to
achieve this, I had my camera on a tripod, and used
aperture priority, and set the f-stop to f22. This
gave me sharp focus from the foreground right back
to the farmhouse.
So,
to get a good looking image, use the widest
possible setting for your lens.
- Set your camera to aperture priority and use the smallest opening possible.
- If you are using a digital point and shoot, make sure to use the landscape setting on the camera, not automatic mode.
- Use a tripod.
- Focus on the middle of the scene.
